The ever reliable Gabriel heads affairs in this year's Ganton Stakes at York and the old boy is sure to be a popular one, yet to win a Group contest or a race at York but should be there or thereabouts following his second in a Group 3 contest at the Derby meeting at Epsom. You can't be ruling last years Grade 1 Arlington Million winner Mondialiste out either who's Group 3 fourth at Sandown was certainly an encouraging run. However the two i'm struggling to split here is Thikriyaat for Sir Michael Stoute and Spark Plug for Brian Meehan. Thikriyaat was rather disappointing on his return here last month when tenth but looked a classy sort in Group 3's last year and i'm confident he'll bounce back to form here with a big run to get into the frame. As for last year's Cambridgeshire winner Spark Plug, he was just denied last time out when beaten a nose in a Listed contest at Goodwood and should also put in another bold bid back down in trip.
