Cheltenham Hunter Chase Evening

It's a night of hunter chases at Cheltenham this Friday evening and there are some cracking old boys out on show looking to relive former glories.

I'll start off with the 5.10 the first race of the evening and the one that I like here as an each way chance is Sam Cavallaro (11/2). He has one the last two runnings of this contest here and is certainly in with a chance to get in the frame to make it three, he has also beat both Broken Eagle and Delta Borget whilst claiming victory here in the past. He did however fall on his last start which was the Foxhunters at Aintree which isn't ideal but at decent odds i'd be certainly willing to have a go on him to go close again here.

Next up is the 5.40 and is an extremely competitive affair with several contesting favouritism. The one i'd be willing to take an each way chance on is however Pride Of Parish (13/2) for Alan Hill. He was a slightly fortunate winner when winning his last start out at Fakenham and the form from that victory isn't all that exciting however trainer Alan Hill does have a great record in this and this horse has been in very good form so he's worth a chance at the odds to get in the frame.

The 6.10 now and another competitive affair of which I will be siding with the market leader in Always Archie (9/4). He was a wider margin winner last time out and if he gets the trip there's nothing that suggests that he can't go close again here. Another one that I like as an each way selection is Current Exchange (8/1) for Francesca Nimmo. This horse was formerly trained by Gordon Elliot and ran a decent race in the Foxhunters here last year. He hasn't been quite with it this time but he's a good enough sort on his day to get in the frame.

6.45 now and it's a short priced favourite heading affairs in Barel of Laughs (4/5) who I think will be very hard to beat here. He's been running well between the flags and put in an exceptional run when third in the Foxhunters at the festival finishing above On The Fringe in the process. That is clearly the best form on show here and a repeat of that run would surely see him be there or thereabouts.

Jumping to the 8.25 and a race which could bring by far the most popular winner of the evening in 15 year old Big Fella Thanks (7/4) for Tom George. He was a brilliant third in the Foxhunters event at Aintree last month and won this contest here last year. He's as consistent as they come and there's nothing to suggest that he won't put a bold showing on here whilst defending his crown.
